The Cattleman Old Model frame is a replica of the original-style 1873 frame with a "fourth screw" in the frame to retain the cylinder pin. The Cattleman Old Model also features the traditional "doughnut" shaped ejector rod tab with the original thinner front blade & rear sight frame notch. This Cavalry version features the US Cavalry stamps, Navy size walnut grip with cartouche, case hardened forged steel frame, and charcoal blued steel parts. The Charcoal Blue finish is a delicate over-oxidized bluing and when new it is a bright blue color, but over time with use it will naturally patina to a soft grey. The Taylor Tuned Cattleman Old Model comes ready to shoot out of the box featuring a hand polished action and our custom springs. For mounted shooters if extra forcing cone clearance is needed this service must be requested when placing an order. Taylor's gunsmiths custom tune guns specifically for each order. This means that if a standard gun is in stock then we can tune it for your order if we do not have a tuned gun already showing in stock!
