Musket Mainspring Vise

This vise is used to compress musket or rifle v-shape mainsprings to assemble or disassemble the lock plate components. It is made of steel and a must-have for any shop. To use the wrench: loosen the threaded rod to open up the vise to the size of your mainspring, then position the two sides of the mainspring in the vise depending on your spring's shape, when the spring is secured continue to tighten the threaded rod down on the spring to compress it as needed. Always use caution with the vise as it puts the spring under a lot of tension which makes it easy to escape the vise if not positioned properly.
