The Winchester Repeating Arms Company may have thought that domestic military sales would make up most of the orders for the firearm, but in fact, civilian sales and international military purchases were what brought in profit that year. In that day, the 1873 was the first lever action available with a broad variety of options. Today, an array of options is still offered in Taylor's 1873 line. The pistol grip stock model features a classic checkered walnut buttstock and forend with a white heat treated frame. 1873 Comanchero® rifle is customized with an action package done by our gunsmith that upgrades this 1873 lever action model. The rifle is ready for competition, speed, increased accuracy, and ultimate comfort for any shooter. The Comanchero® action includes a buckskin butt cover, lever wrap, short-stroke action, and a gold bead sight.
