1866 Winchester Lever Action

When Nelson King patented his new loading system he could not have known that he was creating a long, successful, and attractive line of lever action arms. Successor to the Henry, the model 1866, famously known as the "Yellowboy" due to its shiny brass frame, was the first of hundreds of models bearing the Winchester name. Production started in 1866 and continued through 1898. Rifles, as well as carbines, were introduced during this period. The 1866 "Yellowboy" played a prominent part in the winning of the West.
