Good value for the price Review by An Old Guy

I purchased this rifle. My only criticism is that the finish on the wood is the normal Uberti red varnish. That will get replaced with an oil finish later.
My eventual goal is to get a Vernier rear sight and globe front sight. The front sight is tiny, and I installed a taller front sight for now. The rear sight is a nice buckhorn sight, but it probably belongs on a packable hunting rifle. The barrel is the same weight as a 45-70 target rifle; its a heavy target rifle, not a high country pack rifle.
My sample extracts with no problem. However, it is not designed to eject. You have to pull the shells out from the breach after they are extracted from the chamber. I like this feature, as I save the brass.
All - in -all, it is a nice rifle. (Posted on 10/27/2018)
Stripped Tang Bolt Review by Johnny Holman

I received my rifle, and shortly there after, the new bolts to mount the tang sight I purchased to go on it. I took out the the longer bolt, attached the front screw( short one), and moved to the rear bolt. I could not get it to thread into the tang. I checked the screw I had removed and saw what appears to be some stripped portion of the thread. I will have to take the rifle to a gunsmith to be repaired. I was careful and did not strip the bolt, just by removing it. This is my second Uberti High Wall, the first is perfect. In someone haste to assemble this rifle they stripped the bolt. I do not choose to return it or call them, and be without the gun, even though the warranty card was returned. (Posted on 4/8/2018)
Attractive and Accurate Review by Wyatt Burp

I took it to the range last weekend and shot at 100yds and 200yds... I need some practice with the 30 inch barrel... :-) I was able to get some good groupings at 100yds... but not consistent... I leave that as an issue of the shooter.... :-) I was able to hit a few times out at 200yds with the buck-horn sights and the metal gong at 196yds several times.... can't help the grin that shows up when you hit the gong.... :-) An issue I ran into was the extractor wouldn't extract the cartridges after shooting... I would either have to use a flat head screw driver to pull the spent cartridges out or a ram rod to tap them out from the end of the barrel... The extractor would just glide past the rim of the spent casing... I will have to have a gunsmith take a look... maybe the extractor was meant for the 45-70 cartridge instead of .45 colt?... don't know until I have it looked at... I just love shooting it... I spent three hours at the range... with the weight of the heavy barrel the recoil was barely felt... :-) The Hornady Lever-revolution ammo really was accurate out to 200yds.... I shot cowboy action 45 loads and they could barely reach out with a little Kentucky wind-age... I dropped some pics on the Taylor's Facebook page as well... (Posted on 7/28/2016)
