1876 Centennial Rifle

Introduced in 1876 as the “Centennial Rifle,” this was one of the first lever action firearms to chamber heavier, centerfire ammunition with enough power to hunt bears or bison. Its capability was also appealing to notorious outlaws such as Johnny Ringo and Tom Horn. Features chamber options in some of the original cartridges. The 1876 model features a smooth walnut buttstock & forend, case hardened forged steel frame, octagonal barrel, and blued steel parts. The 76 centennial in the 45-60 amazingly pleasant to shoot I've seen others but taylor and company had the nicest fit and finish I had seen.I had a chance to visit with the knowledgable staff when I visited the store in winchester va. They were incredibly knowledgeable of every firearm in the store it was a treat for me to see all the historical reproductions each as beautiful as the other. Thanks (Posted on 1/30/2018)
An attention getter at the range. Review by Ernie

I bought my 1876 in June 2016. At the range, it shot two feet right of the target at 100 yards with factory ammunition. I moved the rear sight the the left and the front sight to the right and was finally able to hit the target at 100 yards. Factory ammunition was useless . Once I started to reload, the accuracy improved greatly. The rifle produced 1.5 inch groups at 100 yards. I ran it at a long-range rifle match at a cowboy shooting event and took first place - the rifle was accurate and the toggle link action was very fast and smooth.

The rifle is an attention getter at the range. It really stands out against the normal sea of ARs. (Posted on 11/22/2017)
