Excellent hand gun. Review by Mark Murray. (Sparky)

I have been shooting cowboy action now for 8 years. Tuning these guns is easy because the fit and finish from the factory is very good. I have bought guns from other importers and have not been at all happy with the produces they sell. My Taylor’s are my go to pistols for matches. (Posted on 5/21/2020)

I should have written a review just after I bought my gun, but it may be better that I waited since I have had the opportunity to shoot it a few times. Great gun and Taylor's were great to deal with. I'm in PA and they are in VA. I stopped at their display during the Great Eastern Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, PA about 2 years ago. To make a longer story short I had to have it shipped to a local gun shop in order to complete the sale. What gun show loophole!! Anyway, the price didn't change when I picked it up and I've been happily putting holes in targets ever since. (Posted on 11/5/2019)
Excellent Reproduction Review by Rich

Granted you can find less expensive reproduction single actions out there. The world is full of them. However, in this price range the Taylor Cattleman is simply the finest. Mine is a 4 3/4 in 44WCF - something getting harder to find out there. I can tune what I need myself, otherwise I would have had it done - and I don't really need a light trigger for my use. The only modification I made to it was to order a set of thinner and checkered Smokewagon grips, which fit as if they grew into the gun - as did the original (very prettily figured) plain walnut grips.. The revolver locks up tight, the timing is excellent, and no real burrs or issues otherwise in the usually rough actions these reproductions tend to have, so Taylors does a nice job. Accuracy is as good as any I have shot with the short barrel, and the Winchesters do very well out of it. This gun will be carried on backcountry hunts and hikes, and is used often as a carry gun. Taylors does them right. (Posted on 11/6/2018)

Fit and finish are both exceptional. The case hardening is beautiful and grips are very comfortable. I have always wanted a Peacemaker replica, and this revolver is as close as it gets. My first 3 shots at 15 yds. were in the 2" bull. Thank you Taylor's for a great piece of history! (Posted on 8/4/2018)

Great revolver but doesn't work with Winchester factory ammo Review by David

I picked up the Cattleman in .32-20 with the 7 1/2" barrel. I took it to the range and found that with Winchester factory ammo, some rounds would bind up the cylinder and some wouldn't. The tolerances were so tight that some of the rim thickness bound the gun up tight. It seemed better with Remington factory loads but one or two bound up too. I checked the rim thickness and found that there was a difference of .007-.010" between the cases that worked and those that didn't. I understand it could be the ammo, but I would that someone would have checked to see if there was any clearance issues. Other than that the gun is gorgeous and the action is smooth. Always wanted a 7.5" barrel single action but never had the disposable cash for a Colt. Had a chance to get the Taylor's & co. cattleman. This revolver is in 45LC with the 7.5" bbl and is exactly what I was looking for. Great looking and great value. I am looking forward to shooting it, and can do so without worry of having broke the bank to buy it. This revolver is the perfect companion to my 1876 Winchester replica. (Posted on 8/17/2017)

The fit on the grip is not perfect, and my sear spring, broke after light use, which if that would not have happened it probably would have scored higher. Over I'm very satisfied with my purchase, and will hopefully use it till I ride off into the sunset. (Posted on 8/10/2017)
