1873 Cattleman Black Powder

The 1873 Cattleman Black Powder model is produced with similar specs to the popular cartridge Peacemaker. Although the cylinder is for black powder loading, this revolver still has the balanced weight and feel of the cartridge models. The black powder model is fit with all the same Cattleman parts, except a modified hammer to set off caps. It features a forged steel frame, fixed front blade sight, and a Navy size walnut grip. This model has the cartridge ejector rod assembly instead of a loading lever, which requires the cylinder to be loaded with a loading stand. Inventory status may not reflect exact SKUs, please contact us to ensure immediate availability. There is no conversion cylinder available for this model.

Wow! I'm very pleased with this revolver! The fit, finish, and feel of it are all perfect. It has great balance in my hand, and it's one of those things that you pick up and just don't want to put down! Being black powder eliminates the hassle of having to ship it to a FFL dealer ... it arrives directly at your door! And I personally love the process of loading and shooting it. As usual, Uberti has produced a beautiful product, and the service I have received from Taylor's has been first class. I'm very happy with this purchase, and most highly recommend both the revolver and Taylor's! (Posted on 3/30/2016)

It took a couple tries to get the right one, but Taylor's service dept was great about replacing ones that had manufacturer defects. I now have one I'm proud to show off. The first time out with it I easily out shot two friends with their "modern automatics". Put them to shame as they had jam after jam.Revolvers don't jam, part of my love for them. I also was putting 3 & 4 rounds in the same hole as they were all over the target. I shot a 220 grain bullet that I molded, it was designed for another BP revolver but preformed flawlessly in this gun. I'm looking to buy another before their all gone. (Posted on 1/14/2016)
Great Gun Review by Tony

Actually, I bought this gun to practice Cowboy Fast Draw. I would have bought a cheaper blank firing gun but the reviews of those indicated that they wouldn't withstand constant cocking and hammer-fall.
So, I figured that a black-powder revolver was the way to go. They don't cost as much as a "real" gun and I can buy one without going through an FFL holder and the quality is the same as a "real" cartridge firing gun.
If I get any good at Cowboy Fast Draw then I'll probably buy a Ruger Vaquero and use wax bullets. THAT, I will have to buy through an FFL dealer. (Posted on 12/18/2015)

Beautiful gun! Exactly like the cartridge 1873's. Uberti did not skimp just because it's a percussion revolver. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this! I got in on the free holster and was pleasantly surprised that it is pre-formed to the 4 3/4" model SAA. I hope in the future they sell the 7 1/2" model too. (Posted on 8/18/2015)
