1862 Dance

The 1862 Dance & Brothers revolver was designed with a mix of features from both the Dragoon and 1851 Navy revolvers. The significant idea behind this revolver's design was ease of loading so the frame's recoil shields were removed to make it "flat-sided". The Dance model features: case hardened steel frame, confederate style octagonal-to-round barrel, blued parts, brass backstrap and triggerguard, and blade front sight. No conversion cylinder is available for this model. Inventory status may not reflect exact SKUs, please contact us to ensure immediate availability.

Conversion cylinder Review by Buck

I've had one of these for a few years now it's my favorite C&B pistol. I'm pretty sure a conversion cylinder could be fitted to a dance and bros. by shaving the forcing cone down to the same length as an 1860 army. The bolt may need some work also but it should work. (Posted on 10/16/2017)

I have owned cap and ball pistols since 1979, and have owned Pietta manufactured pistols since the early 1990s. Pietta did not have the best reputation in the early 1990s, but I can assure you that has changed drastically. The Dance revolver is the fourth Pietta that I have purchased in the last 5 years, and like the others, it is near perfect out of the box. Timing is right on and the wedge fits correctly with out modification. Fit and finish are excellent, particularly when it comes to the wood. Pietta does a much better job of finishing the grips and matching them to the frame than the most recent Ubertis that I have purchased. This is a beautiful revolver and one that I am very proud to own. (Posted on 12/5/2016)

I shoot in the National Congress of Old West Shootist (NCOWS) Pistoleer and in S.A.S.S. as a Frontiersman both use cap and ball revolvers. I used a brace of Dance revolvers which are accurate. I was the first to hit a bonus target out at 50 yards and impressed my posse. They are also very easy to load. With no recoil shields they are quick and easy to cap. Both are fast handling and look great. I got several shooters looking to buy these historic and beautiful pistols. (Posted on 4/25/2016)
