1860 Henry

In October 1860, B.T. Henry was granted a patent for the design of a new gun, a repeating rifle that used metallic cartridges. This Henry reproduction is as close to the original that you can find and it still is a popularly sought after model today. The Henry barrel has an integrated barrel so to load it the follower must be pulled all the way up, the top sleeve portion turned towards the follower stop screw on the outside of the barrel, and the rifle should be loaded while canted to some degree. This civilian Henry model includes a brass frame, blued & case hardened parts, brass butt plate, and walnut butt stock. Requires an FFL dealer to ship. Outstanding "work of art"qaulity firearm Review by Frank

I recently bought a second 1860 Henry rifle through a dealer supplied by Taylors . Both of my Henry's are Uberti replica rifles, made 25 years apart, so this review serves as well for one as for the other.
First allow me to opine that Benjamin Tyler Henry's repeater design is BRILLIANTLY simple AND effective. As long as you don't do something dumb, like hold the rifle upside - down, it will effectively chamber a cartridge. Not having a forearm is a little inconvenient for the Rambo shooters, but most Civil War era cavalry troopers would have had their gauntlets to keep from burning their fingers. Not having a receiver loading gate is perhaps the biggest shortcoming of the design, but hey, did you buy this rifle to pop off rounds at Johnny Reb, or did you buy it to bust targets? Let that sink in....
The Uberti 1860 Henry is a magnificent replica of a brilliant firearm design. Buy one, load it up on Sunday, and shoot that tarnation gun all week long! You will NEVER regret it.
I, my friend, am a believer...... (Posted on 8/1/2017)
