1860 Army Steel

The 1860 Army revolver was adopted as US government ordnance because of its lighter weight, improved balance, and superior ballistics. This 6-shot percussion revolver became very popular with mounted troops and went on to be the issued sidearm for the US Army for many years. The 1860 army steel model features a forged steel frame, shoulder stock frame cuts and screws, round barrel, fixed front blade sight, ratchet style loading lever, rebated cylinder with a roll engraved navy battle scene, steel backstrap and brass triggerguard, and an Army sized walnut grip. A conversion cylinder is available for this model that is a drop-in conversion to smokeless .45LC/.45Schofield ammunition.

My 1860 44 Army Black Powder uberity replica is a fine looking gun. Plus i bought the R&D conversion cylinder from Taylors & Company took it to the range and was quite surprised how well it shot. The quality and performance is great, Plus it is a fun and enjoyable gun to go to the range to shoot.Used the cowboy loads with a 250 gran bullet. .Taylors made it a fun gun to shoot wit the conversion cylinder. Overall Quality is good, but not exceptional Review by RIchard Senecal

Overall the quality of this revolver seems to be good, except for two areas:
1. The fit of the grips to the grip frame is poor which leads to pinching of my hand when grasping the grips tightly.
2. I have 1 nipple that I have been unable to remove from the cylinder and have already ruined one nipple wrench in an effort to do so. I have ordered a tool steel quality wrench to try again, but if that fails then that chamber will be worthless. (Posted on 8/7/2017)
Another impressive revolver from Uberti and Taylor's. This revolver at 25 yards is as accurate as any modern handgun even with the modern handguns adjustable sights. People who see it are impressed with its looks but people who see it shoot are absolutel Review by Ray Patterson

Another impressive revolver from Uberti and Taylor's. This revolver at 25 yards is as accurate as any modern handgun even with the modern handguns adjustable sights. People who see it are impressed with its looks but people who see it shoot are absolutely stunned by how accurate it is. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another or recommend this revolver to a friend. As a matter of fact I did and he bought one. (Posted on 5/23/2017)

Didn't have time yet to go to the range (too cold, too) yet, but it seems as good as the model 1851 I have also from Uberti. (Posted on 1/27/2017)

I had gotten a Pietta years ago and the fit, finish and overall quality was bad. Not at all the case with this. Beautiful gun...great fit and finish. This feels like a quality firearm as opposed to a sub-par "replica" like the Pietta. Highly recommend Uberti and Taylor's! (Posted on 4/28/2016)
Excellent Reproduction Colt Review by Sal

If you like flash and smoke, then get yourself this grand reproduction of the famous Colt 1860 Army. Great fit and finish with nice case coloring. Ran some rounds through it the other day and found it to be very accurate with correct powder load and ball. Fantastic pistol and I might buy another. Slightly more expensive through Taylor's, but I like their business model/niche and their offerings of firearms of a time past. Great folks to deal with!! (Posted on 2/23/2016)
Outstanding Quality & Price Review by Jody

I am beyond impressed with Uberti's 1860 Army with case hardened frame. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, at any price. But at this price, it is unbeatable. Much closer to the original Colt that the Pietta, this is a flawlessly executed reproduction. I unboxed it, cleaned it per the instructions, and loaded Pyrodex FFFg equivalent powder and used Remington #11 caps. It worked perfectly! What a beautiful, fun fun gun. I can't stop grinning. Highly recommend this one from Taylors. (Posted on 11/6/2015)
