Although proof is lacking that this rifle was issued to soldiers during the Civil War, it saw extensive use in Europe wars during the 1870s. The Zouave was also recognized by experts as one of the better-made long arms of the era. Taylor’s & Co. offers a faithful reproduction of this popular rifle. It features a blue barrel and brass patch box and barrel bands. The case-hardened lock is marked US, with an eagle. NSSA approved.
