The Kentucky is one of the most popular American long guns. This model features a highly oil-finished one-piece walnut stock. The gun is furnished with brass butt plate, trigger guard, large patch box, side plate thimbles, nose cap and case-hardened lock plate. A 35" octagonal blued barrel in .50 caliber complements the piece. The bore is rifled with 8 grooves. This rifle has a brass blade front sight and a steel open rear sight.
These excellent pocket-sized revolvers were the continuing advancement of earlier models like the 1849 Pocket. Stronger built and larger caliber, the 1862 pocket models offered barrel lengths up to 6-1/2", thus maximizing velocity and accuracy in the performance of their powerful .36 caliber chambering.
