When Nelson King patented his new loading system, he could not have known that his 1866 model would play a prominent part in the winning of the West. The 1866, or “Yellowboy,” as it was famously known because of its shiny brass frame, was the successor to the Henry. Production began in 1866 and continued through 1898, a period when both rifles and carbines were introduced.

Best quality lever gun I have shot held, let alone shot. Review by Jaron

A friend of mine bought one of these rifles a couple years ago, and I shot it shortly after. I never would have thought I would be interested in a lever gun that cost this kind of money. But after feeling this rifle and seeing the true craftsmanship and quality I knew it was a great gun. Then after shooting it I was in love. I am about to go on the waiting list for my own and can't wait to take her out hunting once I get it. (Posted on 1/14/2017)
