Developed in 1848, the Colt® Dragoon was issued in pairs as service firearms to members of the U.S. Army’s Mounted Rifles 1st Cavalry, the first of many units known as Dragoons. The revolver had a long and distinguished history in military and civilian service during the 1850s and 1860s, including its use in the Civil War. Features a blue finish with case-hardened frame, and brass backstrap and trigger guard.
