Well made, looks and works great Review by English Bob

I normally use my black powder revolvers with conversion cylinders, so my review is skewed a bit in that direction. When using this revolver with the cylinder that accepts 38 short and long colt, and 38 special wadcutter where the bullet is fully enclosed in the case, as long as you are using lead ammo with a hollow base, the accuracy is quite fine. To get the gun to shoot closer to point of aim, I cut a rear sight into the top of the hammer, where there is normally just a small notch, i.e. I opened up that notch with a file to make a real U-shaped rear sight. With that simple modification, the gun usually hits only about foot low at 25 yards, with the 38 special wadcutter, and I don't have to apply any Kentucky windage. If you get a conversion cylinder, make sure to also buy the tool that allows you to tighten up the hollow screws that hold the little firing pins in place on the conversion cylinder. Just received the 51 navy. Beautiful weapon. Blueing and wood to metal fit were exelant. light trigger with no creep out of the box. Timed very well. Taylors got it to me super fast. I bought the same pistol from taylors a couple years ago. After some front sight work very accurate. No trouble hunting small game like squirrel. (Posted on 10/16/2015)
